Regular Sunday

The smell of sunblock cream is all over the place... Org tua tu nak gi main golf la tu.

Toothache aku datang lagi. Sakit yg menjengkelkan. Member aku pernah cakap dia rela sakit demam selesema daripada sakit gigi. Jengkel dan geram tiap masa mcm rasa nak tumbuk jer muka org yg lalu lalang. Shit!

Semalam nak layan Shrek 3 tak jadi sebab cinemaonline.com.my tipu aku. Siol jer! Cakap show jam 10.00 p.m. Sekali datang kat kaunter tiket tgk show dah start pukul 9.00. Mungkin org yg letak time kat website tu ikut suka hati dia jer nak letak sebab dia fikir org2 kat sini tak tau nak buka internet utk cek showtime dari website tu. Ceh! Shilaker...

i like the pinocchio and the prince charming part the most... hahaha!

Layan lagu2 3rd Eye Blind ni buat otak aku rewind balik masa tingkatan 4 dulu (masa lagu dia time tu cukup hit sampai sorg member aku blh hafal lirik Semi Charmed Life) - masa tangan aku terseliuh masa main bola (Liga Kampung), tapi tak sia2 gak sbb dpt pingat pemain terbaik... hehe, masa member aku sembunyikan rokok kat paip pancuran air time 'spot check', masa cikgu kimia aku suruh tulis ikatan karbon kat papan hijau sbb nampak aku mengantuk time kelas dia (aku sangat TAK SUKA cikgu tu), masa aku baru berjinak nak baca novel inggeris (christopher pike, r.l. stine), semua2 tu la...

Sejuk! baru lepas hujan lebat. bandar jadi lembap, otak org2 pun jadi lembap, nak tido jer, mcm aku...

When u're fucking damn miserable, u'll always compare urself to someone worse to make u feel less a freak but not knowing u're making urself more a moron.

Quite busy today. Loads of work, less time (but still, got time to blog!). Life's a bitch so u have to be a bastard to tackle it.

How To Be Dead, Love

"He had a word, too. Love, he called it. But I had been used to words for a long time. I knew that that word was like the others: just a shape to fill a lack; that when the right time came, you wouldn't need a word for that anymore than for pride or fear."

Rabindranath Tagore

Maybe it's the music, maybe it's the sleepyness or maybe it's just me.

"In the world's audience hall, the simple blade of grass sits on the same carpet with the sunbeams, and the stars of midnight."

"I am restless. I am athirst for faraway things. My soul goes out in a longing to touch the skirt of the dim distance. O Great Beyond, O the keen call of thy flute! I forget, I ever forget, that I have no wings to fly, that I am bound in this spot evermore."

"In our desire for eternal life we pray for an eternity of our habit and comfort, forgetting that immortality is in repeatedly transcending the definite forms of life in order to pursue the infinite truth of life."

"
Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it. Let me not look for allies in life's battlefield but to my own strength. Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved but hope for the patience to win my freedom. Grant me that I may not be a coward, feeling your mercy in my success alone; But let me find the grasp of your hand in my failure."

Land Of A Thousand Words

Posted by Ennosuke Ajibana on Wednesday, May 23, 2007

[Scissor Sisters - Land Of A Thousand Words]

Another constellation dies
Do what you want 'cause it's your own sky
Just call me when the phone stops ringing
Thanks for coming by
I'm just glad I'm on your good side
Where it's smoldering or freezing
It's never all that easy to decide

This is the land of a thousand words
But it seems so few are worth the breath to say
Except I'll be looking after my own world
And you just keep on saving the day
I'll try to stay but it's in vain when you're far
I'm on the run to wherever you are

And that's the nature of the chase
You fall so far behind you end in first place
Pass the torch this time we're running to each's own regret
There's no harm in playing hard to get
Boundlessness deceives me
Baby you may turn the corner yet

This is the land of a thousand words
But it seems so few are worth the breath to say
Except I'll be looking after my own world
And you just keep on saving the day
I'll try to stay but it's in vain when you're far
I'm on the run to wherever you are

I'm a gonna do everything I say
Tried to stay but time's running out
But now I'm on my way

I just couldn't get hold of this song. This is from Peter, Bjorn & John (which I guess, the original artist of this song). I still prefer the Dawn Landes version before. Anyway, the whistling part got stuck in my head... enjoy, anyway!

Young Folks

Posted by Ennosuke Ajibana on Wednesday, May 16, 2007

(Dawn Landes & the WST Band)

if i told you things i did before
told you how i used to be
would you go along with someone like me
if you knew my story word for word
had all of my history
would you go along with someone like me

i did before and had my share
it didn't lead nowhere
i would go along with someone like you
it doesn't matter what you did
who you were hanging with
we could stick around and see this night through

and we don't care about the young folks
talkin' bout the young style
and we don't care about the old folks
talkin' 'bout the old style too
and we don't care about our own folks
talkin' 'bout our own stuff
all we care about is talking
talking only me and you

usually when things has gone this far
people tend to disappear
no one would surprise me unless you do

i can tell there's something goin' on
hours seem to disappear
everyone is leaving i'm still with you

it doesn't matter what we do
where we are going to
we can stick around and see this night through

and we don't care about the young folks
talkin' bout the young style
and we don't care about the old folks
talkin' 'bout the old style too
and we don't care about our own folks
talkin' 'bout our own stuff
all we care about is talking
talking only me and you

and we don't care about the young folks
talkin' bout the young style
and we don't care about the old folks
talkin' 'bout the old style too
and we don't care about our own folks
talkin' 'bout our own style
all we care about is talking
talking only me and you
(repeat)
talking only me and you

talking only me and you
talking only me and you

I know we're just like old friends
We just can't pretend
That lovers make amends
We are reasons so unreal
We can't help but feel that something has been lost

But please you know you're just like me
Next time I promise we'll be
Perfect
Perfect
Perfect strangers down the line
Lovers out of time
Memories unwind

So far I still know who you are
But now I wonder who I was...

Angel, you know it's not the end
We'll always be good friends
The letters have been sent on

So please, you always were so free
You'll see, I promise we'll be
Perfect
Perfect strangers when we meet
Strangers on the street
Lovers while we meet

Perfect
You know this has to be
We always we're so free
We promised that we'd be
Perfect

Best Suicide Plan Ever

Posted by Ennosuke Ajibana on Tuesday, May 08, 2007
[evilada]: Best suicide plan ever
[mcm310]: what is it?
[evilada]: you go up to the top of a roof
[evilada]: string piano wire tight across the front edge at neck level
[evilada]: tie a cord to your foot and the other end to the building so that you'll be above sidewalk level when its fully stretched
[evilada]: then you put super glue on your hands
[evilada]: and put your arms around the front of the wire and then back to touch your head
[evilada]: then you lean forward, so the piano wire cuts your neck but not your elbows
[evilada]: when the cord goes taut, youll be hanging upside down with no head....except your head will be in your outstretched arms thanks to gravity and the glue, staring at someone upside down and spewing blood everywhere.
[evilada]: And some poor bastard will be traumatized for LIFE.
[mcm310]: i dont think i can be your friend anymore

22 January 07 - that was my last post. been busy with my new blog - euthanasia. just edited a few css, add up a calendar, few images and stuff. finally decided not to mix it up with technical geek stuff - strictly about quotes of life. maybe, i'll just put those geek stuff in here.

been reading neil gaiman's... (how do you call them?) metallic-gothic-dark-dreamy-beautiful stories for the past few months ( reading Good Omen at home, just finished Stardust (*****) a few weeks ago - can't wait for the movie!). enjoyed reading his short stories which he posted in his website also, especially this one : The Case Of Four And Twenty Blackbirds

maybe, i'll look for his favourite books :

Votan by John James — the story of the Greek trader who was Odin
Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons — an everyday story of country folk
Lud In the Mist by Hope Mirrlees — a detective story about why we need magic
The Man Who Was Thursday by G. K. Chesterton - a detective story about the search for God
The Biography of Manuel by James Branch Cabell — because, at 18 volumes, I could take it to my desert island. If I had a desert island.

Lud In The Mist
by Hope Mirrlees sounds interesting. Hard to find this kind of book here.

Later!

Beware The Big Wave!

Amaran tsunami semalam buat keadaan Tawau huru-hara sekejap (aku nak tidur pun susah sebab jiran2 semua sibuk buat bising). Bukan aku tak takut, bukan tak nak ambil kisah (sapa tak takut mati lemas kan?) tapi bagi aku, bagi bapa aku juga, kami tak nak ter'over' panic sampai kelam-kabut, tersadung kaki kerusi, jatuh pastu lebam kepala; atau kelam-kabut, tersadung kaki, lepas tu jatuh tangga; ataupun ... well, you get the idea...

Gempa bumi di Indonesia masih belum reda lagi. Baru2 ni (as of this time of writing-3.55pm) :

Location : West of Irian Region. 1380km Southeast of Manado,Indonesia, 2184km Southeast of Tawau.

Magnitude : 6.1 on Richter scale

Time of Occurrence : 12.33 pm on 22 January 2007

No tsunami threat

Watcha Doin' Lately?

Posted by Ennosuke Ajibana on Wednesday, January 17, 2007
Huh?

Been watching & collecting movies and series over the internet. but my point of interest among all that i've collected & watched was a movie by Andrew Niccol (of Gattaca, The Truman Show and s1m0ne) - Lord Of War

the plot, the story and above all the actors (nicolas cage, jared leto, ethan hawke, and a lot of africans) & actresses really nailed their part nicely. fits exactly in place just like a con... i mean a glove.

Baptiste Jr.: Can you bring me the gun of Rambo?
Yuri: Part One, Two, or Three?
Baptiste Jr.: I've only seen Part One.
Yuri: Ah the M-60, would you like armor piercing bullets with that?
Baptiste Jr.: Yes, Please.

the script is almost all quotable quotes - nicely done! cage was all full of sarcastic+mellow+heroic as always. leto was convincing, hawke was persuasive and the africans - they played along perfectly. so, all and all, its a mixture of a very delicious "not-so-dramatic-but-not-so-slow" movie.

i'm not very into slasher films genre. watched "Freddy vs Jason" yesterday & i personally think it's a dumb movie. really. i mean, what's the point of that movie anyway? the storyline sucks big time, Freddy Krueger is quite convincing but that about it, Jason Voorhees did his part in slashing and cutting people in half but that just about it also. so... the movie sucks! period.

Eragon was nice. Made me remember the fantasy trilogy of all time (LOTR). This movie landed just a bit behind. Jeremy Irons and John Malkovich (why do you guys always end up together?) played a nice Yin and Yang (like Vader and Kenobi), the female dragon Saphira (didn't knew it was Rachel Weisz's voice - no wonder the accent!), the flying scene with the dragon sight, the fight in the air made me 'WOW'ed a bit.

Last entry (saved this one for last), is HEROES. It's like an X-Men series only more street style. Last episode in my possession right now is ep.11. Can't wait for next monday (22/1) for the next episode.

made me hungry typing this... longest review i've made so far about movies. well, i'm gonna relax my butt for a bit. adios...

We can love someone and just be happy about it even if we know that it cannot last forever. It is not about having someone. It is not about owning a relationship, it is just about being happy because you know you have loved someone. There is a purpose and meaning behind all events and this purpose and meanings develop you as a person and a lover. Whatever relationship you have in your life now, they are precisely the ones you need at this moment.

You aren't gonna be his last, his first, nor his only. He loved before, he will love again. But if he loves you now, what else matters? He is not perfect, you are not either. If he can make you laugh and he admits to being human and making mistakes, be with him. He's not gonna be thinking of you every moment of the day, but he will give you a part that he knows you can break his heart. So, don't hurt him, don't change him, don't analyze and don't expect more than he can give. Smile when he makes you happy because perfect guys don't exist.

I can't be that kind of person others want me to be. I know I can't please everybody for just being me, but I'm glad that there's someone like you who stays beside me, ready to accept whoever the hell I may be!

One of the reasons why people hold on to memories so tight is because memories are the only things that don't change, when everything else does...

I can't be a dummy if I know deep within me I'm real. Yet, some people may misunderstood me, and don't even bother to take a simple glimpse of my worth. But this is what I want to say... What you see is what you get. Judge me? Well, it depends on what you see but knowing me? It is your creativity to look deeper, peel whatever cover you could see, because deep within me is what makes me human. Not perfect, just the real one.

When you hold someone, hold them like it's the last time you will ever see them and when they go, don't make reasons for them to stay... only reasons for them to return.

Loving is not what we see but what we feel, not how we listen but how we understand, not how we forget but how we forgive. Loving is holding on even when the pain dares you to let go.

You know what happiness is? It's waking up in the middle of the night, shifting blankets and feeling the heat of the person next to you. You turn around and you see that person in his/her most innocent state. You smile, kiss the face gently so as not to awake that person. You turn around and a grin forms on your face. Then, you feel an arm wrapped around your waist, and you know it doesn't get any better than this.

Not Evil Just Misunderstood!

Posted by Ennosuke Ajibana on Friday, November 10, 2006
Really sleepy right now... Tiap kali kurang tido mesti perut rasa lain mcm. Makin hari makin rasa ke'useless'an aku kat sini.

Sekali tgk muka Linus Torvalds ni mcm muka budak sekolah yang baru dapat Pangkat 1 dlm SPM ataupun budak pengakap yang semangat sebab 1st time nak ikut camping group. This is among his famous quotes:

"Modern PCs are horrible. ACPI is a complete design disaster in every way. But we're kind of stuck with it. If any Intel people are listening to this and you had anything to do with ACPI, shoot yourself now, before you reproduce."

"Microsoft isn't evil, they just make really crappy operating systems."

"I'm really not a very nice person. I can say "I don't care" with a straight face, and really mean it."

"Software is like sex; it's better when it's free."

"When you say "I wrote a program that crashed Windows", people just stare at you blankly and say 'Hey, I got those with the system, *for free*'."

"Really, I'm not out to destroy Microsoft. That will just be a completely unintentional side effect."

So, is he Anakin Skywalker or Luke Skywalker?

Compiling A Kernel

Posted by Ennosuke Ajibana on Thursday, November 09, 2006
Meant to post this a couple of days ago but got caught up into some heavy loads of workzzz...

This is just an another style of updating/compiling the kernel. It's based on Ubuntu (btw, I've just received my free ubuntu cds today!) so basically, other debian-based distros could use the same steps. Why do we have to compile/update our kernel? Just simply to look more 'macho' and bring out the real man in us. So, here goes..

1st thing's 1st:

$su
#apt-get update

Then, the toolz

#apt-get install kernel-package libncurses5-dev fakeroot wget bzip2

After that, the KERNEL. Select your desired kernel version (for my example 2.6.18.1 which is in the
.bz2 format). Change to /usr/src and wget your kernel.

#cd /usr/src
#wget http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/linux-2.6.18.1.tar.bz2

Unpack the package, create a symlink (optional for easy 'cd'ing)

#tar xjf linux-2.6.18.1.tar.bz2
#ln -s linux-2.6.18.1 linux
#cd /usr/src/linux

Now, if you have to patch your kernel with some err... patches, you do it like this : (make sure the patch is in the /usr/src/ dir)

#bzip2 -dc /usr/src/patch.bz2 | patch -p1 --dry-run
#bzip2 -dc /usr/src/patch.bz2 | patch -p1

ok, you don't have to run both of the above commands. the 1st one is just to test if everything will be ok. if it doesn't return any error, then you can proceed to the second command (without the --dry-run)

The first command is just a test, it does nothing to your sources. If it doesn't show errors, you can run the second command which actually applies the patch. Don't do it if the first command shows errors!

You can also apply kernel prepatches to your kernel sources. For example, if you need a feature that is available only in kernel 2.6.19-rc4, but the full sources haven't been released yet for this kernel. Instead, a patch-2.6.19-rc4.bz2 is available. You can apply that patch to the 2.6.18 kernel sources, but not to kernel 2.6.18.1 or 2.6.18.2, etc. This is explained on http://kernel.org/patchtypes/pre.html

Prepatches are the equivalent to alpha releases for Linux; they live in the testing directories in the archives. They should be applied using the patch(1) utility to the source code of the previous full release with a 3-part version number (for example, the 2.6.12-rc4 prepatch should be applied to the 2.6.11 kernel sources, not, for example, 2.6.11.10.)

So if you want to compile a 2.6.19-rc4 kernel, you must download the 2.6.18 kernel sources (http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/linux-2.6.18.tar.bz2) in step 3 instead of kernel 2.6.18.1!

This is how you apply the 2.6.19-rc4 patch to kernel 2.6.18:

#cd /usr/src
#wget http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/testing/patch-2.6.19-rc4.bz2
#cd /usr/src/linux
#bzip2 -dc /usr/src/patch-2.6.19-rc4.bz2 | patch -p1 --dry-run
#bzip2 -dc /usr/src/patch-2.6.19-rc4.bz2 | patch -p1

It's a good idea to use the configuration of your current working kernel as a basis for your new kernel. Therefore we copy the existing configuration to /usr/src/linux:

#cp /boot/config-`uname -r` ./.config

Then we run

#make menuconfig

which brings up the kernel configuration menu. Go to Load an Alternate Configuration File and choose .config (which contains the configuration of your current working kernel) as the configuration file.

Then browse through the kernel configuration menu and make your choices. When you are finished and select Exit, answer the following question (Do you wish to save your new kernel configuration?) with 'Yes'.

This is the fun part - build your kernel:

#make-kpkg clean
#fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-dreamb0x kernel_image kernel_headers

After --append-to-version= you can write any string that helps you identify the kernel, but it must begin with a minus (-) and must not contain whitespace.

Now be patient, the kernel compilation can take some hours, depending on your kernel configuration and your processor speed.

After the successful kernel build, you can find two .deb packages in the /usr/src directory. After that, you can 'cd' to that dir and do your installation (#dpkg -i bla..bla..bla) of both the linux-image and the linux-headers. You can also transfer both the .deb packages to other computer.

Reboot your system and do a 'uname -r' to show the world how macho you are now with your new kernel freshly baked in your own room...

Ok, so more than half of this tutorial I've actually snatched from here. Enjoy it anyway...!

Aku ingat tadi nak pasang linux kat laptop Compaq Omnibook XE2 yg dah lama 'bermastautin' kat bilik aku ni. tak pasti lagi nak distro apa tapi kalau nak pasang aku rasa aku akan pilih antara Slackware ataupun Debian. fikir punya fikir, RAM dia dah 64MB jer pastu hdisk lagi 6gb lebih. herm....

Aku dah makin dirasuk oleh lagu Canon D (original oleh Johan Pachelbel). mcm2 variation yg dah jumpa tapi yg paling best gak aku dgr setakat ni oleh mamat George Winston. Sedap giler dia goreng lagu tu.

Lapar pulak... nak gi makan dulu!
